Mint spirulina smoothie
PORTIONS: 1
Even if this smoothie is meant to nourish your gut, I improved its taste to make it feel more like a dessert. The taste will be very pleasant to mint chocolate chip ice cream fans (like me). Mint taste hides the strong spirulina flavor and gives a smoothie some freshness. With spirulina, our body receives plenty of nutrients – protein and minerals like calcium, iron, and magnesium.
Spirulina also promotes good bacterial growth in our gut and has anti-inflammatory properties, which is useful when our body fights with oxidative stress. Enough about spirulina benefits, let’s see the recipe 🙂
1 cup | plant-based milk (I used almond milk) |
A handful of | spinach |
1 teaspoon | spirulina |
A half of | frozen banana |
A half of | avocado |
4-5 | fresh mint leaves |
2 teaspoons | maple syrup or another sweetener |

Put all ingredients into a blender and mix everything until the desired texture. You can add some extra milk to make it more liquid. Bon appetit!
