Chocolate Quinoa porridge

Cooking instructions

  1. Give the groats a quick rinse and then use a sieve to drain them. Next, put the groats in a saucepan over a medium heat and fry them for about a minute.
  2. Pour in the milk and salt and when the porridge comes to the boil, reduce the heat to low and leave for about 20 minutes. Keep an eye on the porridge and keep stirring.
  3. Once the grits are cooked, add the rest of the ingredients, stir and let stand for another minute.
  4. Serve with berries, nuts and a splash of milk

Quinoa is one of the most nutritious cereals around. It has almost twice the fibre and the highest protein content compared to other cereals. I think this porridge is a great alternative to traditional oatmeal. It's got more protein and is just as good for you, if not better, in terms of taste. Ingredients

  • 1 glass of Quinoa
  • 2 glasses of plant milk (I used almond)
  • 2 tbsp Daily Spoon blend for Energy (can be replaced by natural cocoa powder)
  • 1 tsp maple syrup or honey
  • A pinch of sea salt
