At the weekend, I often like to make these banana and peanut butter waffles — and you only need 4 ingredients! So simple, yet absolutely delicious.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 egg
- 5 tbsp nut butter
- 2 tbsp spelt flour
- 2 tbsp Daily Spoon Caramel Protein
- Optional: cinnamon, 2 tsp chia seeds, 1 tsp baking powder, a pinch of salt
Cooking Instructions
- Mash 2 small ripe bananas with a fork and mix in 1 beaten egg. Add 5 tablespoons of nut butter.
- Stir in 2 tablespoons of spelt flour and 2 tablespoons of Daily Spoon Light Caramel Protein Powder — it adds both protein and delicious sweetness. You can also use just flour.
- Optional extras (you probably already have these in your pantry, and they make the waffles even better): a little cinnamon, 2 tsp chia seeds, 1 tsp baking powder and a pinch of salt.
- If the batter is too runny, add a little more flour or protein powder. If it’s too thick, add half of the beaten egg.
- Cook in a waffle maker for about 2 minutes, until golden brown. Serve with your favourite toppings. I love mine with Greek yogurt and berries.
